Among them is Jodi Cutler, co-author of Rally Caps, a story featuring a child with hearing loss who uses a cochlear implant. Jodi shared that creating this character was important so that children with hearing loss could see themselves represented in literature.

As teachers prepare for the start of the new school year, the School Age Outreach team of the North Dakota School for the Deaf/Resource Center is also on the road providing in-services on tips and strategies working with a student with a hearing loss.
