Lake Region Community Shelter

The Lake Region Community Shelter is now open, by referral only. The Lake Region Community Shelter will be starting out relatively small, having 11 beds to start with, possibly growing in the future if needed. Provided to each guest when available will be an evening meal, breakfast, and a sack lunch to take with them each day. Address is: 315 3rd St. NE (Next to The Hope Center)

ours of operation will be from 7pm until 7am, with access only through a referral process (local churches, the police department, high way patrol, crisis line, community services, St. Vincent dePaul, The Salvation Army, Dakota Prairie, etc.) If you need to refer a person to the shelter, please email [email protected] to get the procedure. There will always be 2-3 trained shelter volunteers on the premises during hours of operation to serve and monitor any guests. We are in need of volunteers to be able to help us staff this time frame, and will begin training in April. Each shift we hope to have 1 male and 1 female if possible. We will also need volunteers willing to cook/ bring food for the guests.
