DISRUPTION OF PHONE WEDNESDAY
The city is switching our internet/phone from Frontier ($390 a month) to Highline ($99 a month) tomorrow, June 24th. When the switch takes place, the phone will be out of service for a short while. Please call the city cell phone (936 334 4496) if the office phone isn't working.

PAST DUE ACCOUNT SHUT OFFS BEGIN TODAY
The city will begin to shut off all water meters with a past due balance. Pictures will be taken of the meter reading when the meter is shut off and locked. Any tampering of the meter or removal of the lock is considered theft of service.
"Meter tampering. For purposes of these sections, meter tampering, bypass, or diversion shall be defined as tampering with a water or sewer utility company’s meter or equipment causing damage or unnecessary expense to the utility, bypassing the same, or other instances of diversion, such as physically disorienting the meter, objects attached to the meter to divert service or to bypass, insertion of objects into the meter, other electrical and mechanical means of tampering with, bypassing, or diverting utility service, removal or alteration of utility-owned equipment or locks, connection or reconnection of service without utility authorization, or connection into the service line of adjacent customers or of the utility." (Public Utility Commission of Texas, chapter 24.169)

Due to the loss of power, TCEQ has required the City of Devers to issue a boil water notice for all customers.

As required by TCEQ, we are issuing a boil water notice for customers south of the Hwy 61 Booster Station.

LOW WATER PRESSURE DOWN HWY 61
***2:35 pm UPDATE:
The electrician has fixed the issue at the booster station. Water pressure should slowly return to normal.

The power outage has caused an electrical issue at the booster station. Customers down Hwy 61 will have lower water pressure until the electrician arrives and fixes the issue.
