Well today is the day after more than 20 years as the Fire Chief of the Town of Detroit I will not be reappointed by the Selectmen ( Not my choice). They have decided that they want someone younger to take what I have built and go in a new direction. I want to thank all the residents who put their unwavering trust in my ability to provide them the best fire protection services and trained personnel. I am humbled by the personnel who spend thousands of hours training to get their Professional qualifications to protect and serve the residents of Detroit. You have taken the organization from being nothing to earning the respect of all the other fire departments in the region. I am so very proud of all my firefighters and their achievements you all made me the leader that I have become. You all should be proud of all you have done! Our firefighters Association was able to raise and purchase over $106,000 in vehicles and essential life savings equipment as well as donated over 80k to charities. I will forever grateful to all of you and thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. As for the Town of Detroit I wish them the best in there new mission.
