Parental Advocacy:
Families on the Move, Inc. provide members of the foster, adoptive, kinship and biological parenting community with educational, legal and political information regarding child welfa
re policies, procedures and practices that are inherent in dealing with the Department of Health and Human Services. YOUTHS ON THE MOVE is our youth-centered program that provide activities, camp, graduation assistance (high school senior pictures, prom and trip) through generous donations and sponsorships. We also receive membership fees and private donations, as well as support from volunteers, board members, state, foster care and adoption agencies. Membership Services Include:

• Pre & Post Adoption Support and Resources
• Foster Parent Review Board Hearing Support
• Parent Mentoring 24 Hour Support via Phone Respite Assistance
• Retention & Recruitment of Adoptive and Foster Families
• Training for allegations of Abuse & Neglect
• Family Social Events

Our History:
Families on the Move, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. It has evolved from an agency’s foster parent support group in 1989. The first name of the group was “Foster/Adoptive Family on the Move with Love.” In 1996, the name was changed to “Families on the Move, Inc.” In 2006, received its non-profit tax-exempt status. Funding:
Families on the Move, Inc., has received grants from the Dave Thomas Foundation, Adopt US Kids, Department of Health and Human Services, Wayne County Community Health Agency, United Way and many others. Consider becoming a member of this worthwhile organization!!! Mission Statement:
