Today is Feel Good, Heal Good Friday at SASHA Center.

Healing can look like many things.

Sometimes it is sharing your story in a trusted space. Sometimes it is setting a boundary, asking for support, resting without guilt, or taking a quiet moment to care for your body.

For Feel Good, Heal Good Friday, SASHA Center reminds every experiencer that self-care is not selfish, and healing does not have to follow anyone else’s timeline.

Our mission is to provide culturally specific, trauma-informed support where Black women and other self-identified experiencers of sexual assault are seen, heard, believed, and empowered to heal on their own terms.

Today, choose one act of care that honors what you need. It does not have to be complicated to be meaningful.

HELLO MONDAY.
This one is for the woman everybody calls because they know you'll answer.
The one who figures it out.
The one who checks on everybody.
The strong friend.
But Sis…
who gets to be strong for you?
Sometimes being "the strong one" becomes such a familiar role that we forget we're allowed to need something too.
You are allowed to say, "I'm having a hard day."
And you deserve relationships where you don't always have to show up as the healed, capable, put-together version of yourself.
Strong women need soft places to land too.
So this week, don't just check on everybody else.
Check on yourself.
And when someone you trust asks, "How are you?"...
Maybe don't automatically say, "I'm good."
Tell the truth (shame the devil, or whatever grandma dem said ☺️).
Let somebody love on you for a change.
May this week bring you people who pour back.
People who notice.
People who ask twice.
People who make room for the woman underneath all that strength.
Because…
You deserve to be held, too.
Take what you need into the week. Leave the rest here.
Love,
SASHA Center
