🌎✨ Hispanic Heritage Month may be coming to an end, but the celebration doesn’t have to stop!

Throughout this month, we’ve explored some of the languages, traditions, foods, history, and contributions that make Hispanic cultures so diverse and meaningful. These influences are part of communities across the United States every day.

Did you know Spanish is the most widely spoken language in the United States after English? Millions of people across the country speak Spanish at home, making bilingualism an important part of our schools, workplaces, communities, and families. 🇺🇸🌎

Speaking more than one language helps us communicate across cultures and stay connected to our heritage.

Did you know corn has been part of cultures across the Americas for thousands of years? From one ingredient come countless delicious traditions, including tortillas, tamales, pupusas, arepas, cachapas, humitas, and empanadas de maíz. ❤️

Different countries and families have their own special ways of preparing and enjoying corn, making it an important part of many culinary traditions.

From data-driven instruction, small-group learning, strong teacher support, and a record of significant academic growth to robotics, coding, clubs, after-school programs, and enriching activities that help scholars think boldly and discover their interests, there is so much for families and scholars to love.

Did you know chocolate has ancient roots in Latin America? Long before the chocolate we enjoy today, Indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica cultivated and consumed cacao. The Maya and Aztec civilizations valued cacao as an important part of their culture and traditions. 🌎

Next time you enjoy some chocolate, remember—you’re enjoying something with a history that goes back thousands of years! 🍫
