Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan Our mission is to create new and better ways to move and connect people.

The purpose of the RTA is to plan for and coordinate public transportation in the four-county region, including the City of Detroit, and to deliver rapid transit in a region where none exists. It is the entity through which transit providers must apply for state and federal funds, and through which those funds are allocated to providers. The RTA is also responsible for developing a Regional Master Transit Plan to guide present and future service and is empowered to put funding questions on the ballot for public vote.

🚨 SERVICE UPDATE: Effective immediately, riders can now bring e-bikes and e-scooters on D2A2.

The battery must not exceed 750 watts, and it must be removed, placed in an acceptable carrying case, and brought on board the bus to ride.

DETROIT — Get ready to groove with us 💃🎶

You loved it so much that we're bringing jazz back on the QLINE in partnership with the Detroit Jazz Festival! Get on board tomorrow and get ready for the festival with TWO live performances on board the streetcar:

🕛 12 PM: Gretchen C. Valade Trio
🕕 6 PM: Wendell Harrison Trio

Both performances will make the full trip from Grand Boulevard to Congress and back. Follow our story for location and other updates during the performances.

The Detroit Jazz Festival takes place in downtown Detroit at Hart Plaza and Campus Martius Park over Labor Day weekend, from Sept. 4-7. Ride the QLINE for FREE and get dropped off minutes from the festival.

We're excited to announce jazz is back on the QLINE for another year in celebration of the Detroit Jazz Festival taking place in downtown Detroit Sept. 5-7 over Labor Day weekend!

Join us on Thursday, August 27 at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. for live performances from the Gretchen C. Valade Trio and the Wendell Harrison Trio. Hop on at any one of the QLINE's 13 stops — both performances will make the full trip from Grand Boulevard to Congress and back.
