Leisure Enrichment was granted tax exempt status in 2005, and has been providing academic, athletic and character development activities to children and youth in Detroit , Michigan since that time. Leisure Enrichment was born through Sharon Jackson’s dedication to youth and community, love for her craft (education) and a desire to invest in the youth of today for a return not measured by th

e dollar bill. Leisure Enrichment is dedicated to the vision of developing youth of the 21st century into intellectual, positive, engaged and civic minded leaders..leaders with an intrinsic desire and self proclaimed responsibility to serve their community. Thereby, creating a legacy of pride and a lineage of hope for future generations. In 2008, with minimal financial resources, but a plethora of community support, Leisure Enrichment held an innovative 8 week summer camp which integrated academic enrichment with physical prowess and the development of social skills and moral character. Leisure Enrichment garnered the support of Gleaner Food Bank, the Detroit Tigers Organization, the Detroit Health Department and the Skillman Foundation. We look forward to continuing our work and forming even more partnerships in the future!!
