Health Emergency Lifeline Programs HELP....It's What We Do! Staff members also help clients access additional community food resources. Individual and group therapy may be available.

Programs and Services

FOOD & NUTRITION SERVICES: Provide low income households with food vouchers and prescribed nutritional supplements. Nutritional counseling and educational programs are offered on-site on topics including cooking, food preparation/food safety and nutrition issues. HOUSING SERVICES: Aim to prevent homelessness and stabilize housing by providing emergency/short term assistance

for security deposits, first month’s rent and past due rent/mortgage. The agency advocates for appropriate long-term housing support including subsidized and supportive housing options. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Furnishes past due or emergency utility payments to maintain working electricity, heat and water services which are vital components of adequate housing. HELP is a THAW site (The Heat & Warmth Fund) and works closely with utility providers on behalf of our clients. Agency staff members provide assistance/advocacy with accessing an array of utility resources for low-income consumers. MEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT: Provides ongoing support to access and maintain medical care, medication adherence and supportive services. Case managers also assist with applying for Social Security, Medicaid, disability and other benefits; and accessing programs such as substance abuse treatment, mental health care, housing and job training. MENTAL HEALTH: Counseling services are available for individuals who are dealing with a variety of mental health conditions or concerns. EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES: Promote rapid access to medical care and resources. EDUCATION PROGRAMS: Focus on building skills to promote long-term health and quality of life. Topics include health promotion, risk reduction, utility conservation, home weatherization, personal/household budgeting and landlord/tenant issues.
