Please be aware of demolishing activity around your home, especially if you have young children.

The city has a new text alert system that will notify you of any demolitions occurring within 500 feet of your home. Just text your address to 313.254.3366 and "opt-in" to receive text notifications two weeks prior to demolitions by your home.

We will be discussing what the Partnership has learned from community focus groups and what we can do to address the issues related to air quality and asthma in Southwest Detroit. Remember, carbon monoxide is an odorless and colorless gas! Make sure you have detectors near all the sleeping areas in your home, and low to the ground -- unlike smoke which rises, CO sinks.

Authorities say several employees at a Rochester Hills restaurant were taken to a hospital because of carbon monoxide poisoning.
