September is Su***de Awareness Month đź’ś
For survivors of sexual violence, the effects of trauma can reach far beyond the moment of the assault. Survivors may experience fear, shame, isolation, depression, anxiety, or feelings of hopelessness. For some, the weight of that trauma can lead to thoughts of su***de.
At Avalon Healing Center, we want survivors to know: you are not alone, and what happened to you does not define your future.
Healing is not linear. Some days may feel heavier than others, but support, connection, and compassionate care can make a difference. There is hope beyond trauma, and every survivor deserves the opportunity to heal in a way that feels safe and right for them.
This Su***de Awareness Month, let’s create space for honest conversations, listen without judgment, and remind survivors that their lives matter.
You are seen.
You are heard.
You are worthy of healing.
Your story is not over.
If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
At Avalon Healing Center, we stand with survivors—through the hard days, the healing days, and every wave in between.
