As W.I.S.E. Partnership celebrates 5 years of serving our beloved Detroit, we’re inviting our community to celebrate with us by giving back.
Our W.I.S.E. Community Bench was created with a simple purpose: Take What You Need. Give What You Can. This September, help us keep that spirit of community care going by joining our campaign.
Stop by 2700 W. Chicago Blvd., Detroit and place your donations directly in the Community Bench. We’re accepting new toiletries, non-perishable food, bottled water, juices, and other shelf-stable essentials. Every item matters, and every donation helps make sure a neighbor can find something they need.
You can also bring your donations when you join us at one of our September events:
September 5 | 5–7 PM — Spiral Initiative Open Mic, hosted by Kenndall Wallace. Comics, poets, writers—the mic is yours!
September 6 — Fiber Through the Lens of Fashion, Love Building x Container, featuring artists Majesty, Sudani, and Taylor.
September 12 | Evening — Music on the Blvd, a W.I.S.E. Partnership event featuring DJ LaVance Sykes bringing the HOUSE, with jazz from The Marvin Thompson Trio and Mike & Marsha Evans.
September 19 | 6–8 PM — Born in Sepia, the fashion show from Taylor Childs Studios, presented by Jasmine and Taylor.
September 30 | 7–9 PM — Film Festival, presented by the W.I.S.E. Partnership Community Arts Team, featuring “Until It Feels Like Worship” by Ifayomi.
So when you come to celebrate with us this month, bring something for the bench. A bottle of water. A can of food. Toothpaste. Soap. Juice. A few items or a whole bag. Together, we can keep the W.I.S.E. Community Bench stocked and available for anyone who needs it.
Come celebrate. Come give. Come .
