DeSoto Fire Rescue responded today to a two-alarm structure fire on Spruce Wood in DeSoto.

Firefighters located one individual inside the structure, who was rescued and transported for emergency medical care. The City has since been notified that the individual later passed away.

Fire departments from Lancaster, Cedar Hill, and Duncanville assisted DeSoto Fire Rescue in the response.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones affected by this tragic loss.

Here we go again!

Proud to be deploying with TIFMAS for another wildland assignment. This time, weโ€™re teaming up with our neighbors at Red Oak Fire Rescue and utilizing two of their Firefighters to staff our Type 6 brush truck and head out to help wherever weโ€™re needed.

This is what the fire service is all about, departments working together, taking care of each other, and answering the call when communities across Texas need help.

Prayers for safe travels, a safe assignment, and for all of the firefighters and resources working across the state. Ready to get to work! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’๐ŸŒฒ

DeSoto Fire Rescue Answers the Call

Yesterday, DeSoto Fire Rescue deployed Engine 267 (E267) and three of its firefighters to South Texas through the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) to assist communities impacted by the recent devastating flooding.

TIFMAS allows fire departments across Texas to provide personnel and equipment to communities facing large-scale emergencies, ensuring resources are available where they are needed most.

While E267 and its crew are serving fellow Texans, DeSoto Fire Rescue remains fully staffed and prepared to respond to emergencies within our community. Residents can be confident that emergency services in DeSoto continue without interruption.

We are incredibly proud of the members of E267 for answering the call to serve beyond our city limits. Their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to help others embody the values of DeSoto Fire Rescue.

Please join us in keeping our firefighters, all responding agencies, and the families and communities affected by the flooding in your thoughts and prayers. We wish our crew a safe deployment and a safe return home.
