This morning, our officers continued their ongoing training to stay prepared and ready to serve our community.

Today’s focus was on the deployment of spike strips, an important tool used during vehicle pursuits. When used properly, spike strips help safely deflate a vehicle’s tires, slowing it down in a controlled manner and reducing the risk to the public, officers, and the driver.

Training like this ensures our officers remain skilled, confident, and committed to keeping Desert Hot Springs safe.

Today, we had the privilege and honor of being part of the procession for Officer and former Desert Hot Springs Police Officer, Seth Franklin, who lost his valiant battle with cancer.

Seth was more than just a dedicated partner in law enforcement—he was a true friend to many at DHSPD. His presence, professionalism, and heart will never be forgotten.
