he current Air Quality Index (AQI) is approximately 240, which falls within the Very Unhealthy category.
At this level, everyone may begin to experience health effects, and sensitive groups—including children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and those with heart or lung conditions—are at an even greater risk.
Here are a few ways to stay safe:
Limit time outdoors and avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
Stay indoors with windows and doors closed whenever possible.
If available, use air conditioning and set it to recirculate indoor air.
If you must be outside for an extended period, consider wearing a well-fitting N95 or KN95 mask to help reduce exposure to fine particles.
Stay hydrated and monitor yourself for symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, chest discomfort, or dizziness.
Please continue to monitor local air quality conditions and take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your family. Stay safe!

🎆 Fireworks Safety Reminder 🎆
As we celebrate with family and friends, let's make safety a priority.
Each year, thousands of people are injured by fireworks, with many of those injuries affecting the hands, fingers, face, and eyes. What starts as a celebration can quickly become a life-changing emergency.
Remember, fireworks can also ignite grass, brush, and structure fires. Before lighting any fireworks, make sure they are legal in your area, follow all safety instructions, and keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
If an emergency occurs, call 911 immediately.
Have a fun, safe, and memorable celebration from all of us at North Maine Fire Protection District! 🚒🇺🇸

A big thank you to RedLine Gear Cleaning for visiting our department and providing professional cleaning services for our firefighters' turnout gear.
After every emergency response, turnout gear can be exposed to smoke, carcinogens, hazardous materials, and other contaminants. Routine professional cleaning is an essential part of protecting our firefighters and extending the life of their gear.
RedLine uses a state-of-the-art cleaning process that includes pretreating every set of gear, a five-cycle wash with commercial-grade sanitizers and detergents, and an ozone cleaning station to help remove contaminants and ensure our gear is thoroughly cleaned.
We appreciate RedLine Gear Cleaning's commitment to firefighter safety and helping us keep our personnel protected and ready to respond. Thank you for your outstanding service and partnership!
