LSI was honored to attend the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) Convening 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia this past week, alongside more than 1,000 legal providers and advocates working to expand access to immigration services across the country.

During the convening, LSI received our certificate of completion for CLINIC’s Capacity Building Institute - a key milestone as we prepare to launch our new Immigration Legal Services program.

At a time when access to trusted, affordable immigration legal support is more critical than ever, we are proud to be building the capacity to serve our community in new and meaningful ways. These services help families find stability, navigate complex systems, and move forward with confidence - strengthening not only individual lives, but our entire community.

We are grateful to be part of a national network committed to justice, dignity, and opportunity for all.

Our Facilities Department recently installed two new signs at our Des Moines office. By repurposing our old signs and creating the new designs in-house, they gave them a fresh new look while keeping project costs down.

As we turn the page to June, we're reflecting on an incredible National Foster Care Month at LSI. Throughout May, we celebrated the dedicated foster parents, resilient children, supportive families, and passionate staff who make a difference every day.

Thank you to everyone who helped raise awareness, shared stories, and supported foster care across Iowa. While National Foster Care Month has come to a close, the need for caring foster families continues year-round.

Today, more youth need foster parents who can help them feel safe, supported, and connected. Can you help by becoming a foster parent? If fostering isn't the right fit for you, consider helping us build communities of support for the families who are currently fostering.
