This is the official page for all things Highland Park & Oak Park Neighborhood related. Please feel free to share events, news articles, history nuggets, etc. The Highland Park/Oak Park Neighborhood Association is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization whose mission is to be the collective voice of our neighborhoods. We strive to improve & foster a sense of community and community pride thru neighbor participation. We hold informational meetings, work with the city on projects, and hold family events throughout the year. Interested in volunteering to help shape the future of Highland Park/Oak Park? There are so many ways to help out - Ask us how! Neighborhood Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Northside Community Center (3010 6th Ave, DSM). The only exception is in August and December due to National Night Out and our Neighborhood Potluck Gathering. We hope you'll join us at our next neighborhood meeting. CURBSIDE CLEANUP: Starts Monday, Sept. 14

Due to tree damage caused by the recent storms, Public Works is offering FREE curbside collection of vegetative debris citywide. Please have your tree and yard debris at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14.

For those whose trash is collected in the alleyway, you must place your vegetative storm debris at the curb facing the street.

Limbs must be cut to lengths of 10 feet or shorter, and must be 24 inches in diameter or less. Anything larger will not be collected.

Please also make sure to keep piles away from utilities, poles, mailboxes, vehicles and other structures. Our crews will be using heavy machinery and need space to work.

Work will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, and will continue until crews have made a full pass through the city. There are no plans for a second pass, so please make sure to have piles at the curb by Monday morning in case your street is one of the first to be serviced!

In addition to curbside collection, we will be opening our Compost Center for free tree and yard waste drop-off this Saturday, Sept. 12, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. SCRUB rules apply.

Please obey all traffic closures and keep your eyes out for work crews.
