The Libertarian Party formally condemns the escalating campaign of intimidation by Republican operatives targeting ballot-qualified Iowa candidates.

Our volunteers gathered a record number of signatures to earn a spot on the 2026 ballot. Instead of a fair debate, the establishment responded with a barrage of aggressive tactics:

• Threats of "legal warfare" and bogus FEC complaints.

• Under-the-table inducements and promises of political access to force candidates to drop out.

• Frivolous formal challenges targeting candidate names rather than actual voter intent.

The national party is backing our Iowa team to the hilt. We will use all available methods and resources to protect voter choice.
