πŸ“’ OPEN CAMPUS REMINDERS

Students and families, we want to provide a few important reminders and clarifications regarding Open Campus and lunch expectations.

πŸŽ“ 5th Period
If you HAVE a scheduled 5th-period class, you CANNOT leave campus for lunch. Students may only leave for lunch if they DO NOT have a 5th-period class.

πŸ” Bringing Food Back
Students using Open Campus CANNOT bring food or drinks back for friends or other students.

⚠️ Open Campus is a Privilege
Students are responsible for knowing their schedules and following Open Campus expectations. Failure to follow these expectations may result in consequences, including the loss of Open Campus privileges.

πŸ₯€ Healthy Choices
We also encourage students to make healthy choices throughout the school day. Choose water when possible, bring nutritious snacks, and remember that sugary drinks are not allowed during school meal hours β€” before school and from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM.

Thank you to our students and families for helping us keep Open Campus a successful opportunity for our students! πŸ’šπŸ’›

We are excited to announce that Morgan Block has been hired as the first-ever Head Girls Soccer Coach at Saydel High School! βš½οΈπŸ¦…

Morgan brings a wealth of coaching experience, including time coaching at the high school level at Southeast Polk and years of experience coaching in the competitive youth soccer environment. She also played collegiately at Grand View University and brings a passion for developing athletes and building a strong team culture.

We are especially excited to welcome Morgan to the Saydel family in another role as she joins our district as a teacher at Cornell Elementary!

As Morgan begins the process of building our girls soccer program from the ground up, she shared:

β€œEvery program has to start somewhere. Ours is starting with a group of girls willing to believe, work hard, compete, and grow together. We are laying the foundation for something special and I can't wait to see where this journey takes us. I am excited to be the new girls soccer coach!”

Please join us in welcoming Coach Morgan Block to Saydel!

πŸ“’ Parent Absence Requests Through Infinite Campus πŸ“’

Parents and guardians can now submit student absence requests directly through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal!

This is a quick and convenient way to notify the school when your student will be absent, arriving late, or leaving early β€” no need to call the school!

Through the absence request form, you can:

Select the reason for the absence
Submit a full-day or partial-day absence
Attach documents if needed
Add comments for the school
Track your request after it has been submitted

We encourage families to use this feature whenever possible when reporting upcoming student absences.

Thank you for helping us keep attendance information accurate and up to date! πŸ’šπŸ’›
