NDC was created in 1999 as part of a 28E Agreement between the City of Des Moines, Polk County, Des Moines Development Corporation, and Federal Home Loan Bank. Currently, NDC’s service areas include the following neighborhoods in Des Moines:

River Bend
King Irving
Drake
Sherman Hill
Woodland Heights
Capitol East
Fairgrounds
McKinley School/Columbus Park

as helped over 20 businesses with planning and/or startup ventures in the Des Moines area. Funded in part by the City of Des Moines, NDC has leveraged $5 million into $18 million worth of development over a 10 year period.
