In the area of Fairground Road in Des Arc to the Bayou Bridge, customers may experience low water pressure due to a water main break. Workers are currently working to repair it. Water may have to be temporarily shut off to make the repair.

The City of Des Arc will be doing maintenance and repairs on the storm sirens today, Wednesday, June 3rd. Sirens may be set off multiple times during the day as we test them.

The City will begin flushing water lines within Des Arc today, May 21st. Customers may see discolored water as this stirs up the system, but it should clear quickly.

The Des Arc Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time, certified police officer to serve our close-knit, supportive community. Responsibilities include enforcing local, state, and federal laws, patrolling assigned areas (8-hour shifts with overtime as needed), conducting criminal investigations and preparing case files, completing reports and working collaboratively with the department staff and community members. Must have strong investigative, communication, and report-writing skills and have a professional, community-oriented attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Current Arkansas certification is required.

This is a full-time, hourly position starting at $18 per hour (if certified) and offers retirement and benefits with a supportive and appreciative work environment. The City of Des Arc is now accepting sealed bids for the purchase of 13.5 lots, offered for development purposes, not for resale. The property includes Lots 8–10 of Block 7, Lots 3–9 of Block 14, the South ½ of Lot 12 of Block 13, and Lots 1–3 of Block 16 of the Erwin Survey, situated along Ambrose, Pike, and Chester Streets near the river. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and turned in at City Hall at 107 S 3rd Street in Des Arc, no later than April 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Bids will be opened during the City Council Meeting April 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM. The right is reserved to accept or reject any and all bids. For more information, contact City Hall at (870) 256-4316.

In the area of Robinwood Road, a water main has been hit and water will need to be shut off for repairs. Employees are working to repair it as soon as possible.

GAS CUSTOMERS!! Tomorrow, March 19, 2026, at approximately 2:00 PM, City workers will need to shut off the gas to do some needed repairs. The area affected will be from Calhoun Street to Hamilton Street.

If any private residents have old tires and need a place to dispose of them for free, the City has a trailer set up beside the old State Farm building right off Main Street. It will be there until it is full.
