RNH Show Chorus is a member of Harmony Incorporated. A women’s barbershop style chorus in Derry, NH!

Rehearsals are Thursdays at 6:45pm-9:15pm at the Marion Garrish in Room 5. RNH meets Thursdays at the Marion Gerrish Community Center, 39 West Broadway, Derry at 6:45 p.m. Under the direction of Jessie Caynon the group performs blues, jazz, Broadway and contemporary 4-part barbershop harmonies throughout New England. Happy Friday from RNH Show Chorus in Derry, NH!

Y’all… we have been BUSY since contest in April. Like “who-has-time-for-social-media-when-the-risers-are-actively-trying-us” busy.

Between rehearsals, we’ve been diving into some fun contemporary tunes (yes, we’re in our current-era glow-up) and had the absolute honor of performing at a Naturalization Ceremony in Concord, NH—an incredibly inspiring reminder of the power of music, community, and new beginnings.

✨ THE LOW VOICES HAVE ARRIVED ✨

We don’t know who manifested this, but we would like to say THANK YOU. Please welcome three baritones (Candace, Tiffany, and Cat) and one bold, fearless bass (Beverly). Yes. A bass. We are thriving.

Two are getting ready to audition, and the other two are being gently encouraged (read: lovingly hyped at every rehearsal) to make it official.

If you’ve ever thought, “hmm… I could sing a little a ca****la and also make some great friends,” this is your sign. We’re welcoming women (including cis and non-binary singers) who are ready for harmony, laughter, and just a tiny bit of chaos. Contact us at [email protected]

🚨🚨 HOLD PLEASE 🚨🚨

We interrupt our regularly scheduled chaos recap to bring you some VERY IMPORTANT NEWS…

RNH. GOT. THE. INVITE. 😱🎉

That’s right—after surviving The Week™ (you know… the COVID, the ER field trip, the emotional support snacks, the bathroom stall that chose violence…), we have officially been invited to compete at the 2026 Harmony, Inc. International Convention & Contests in Louisville, Kentucky this November!!!

And not as an alternate…
Not as a “maybe if someone sneezes”…

A FULL. PARTICIPANT. 🤯

Now—before we start packing matching outfits and emotionally preparing for hotel lobby rehearsals—the chorus will be taking some time to seriously discuss whether attending is feasible for us.

(Translation: logistics, timing, and yes… finances.)

Well… if there were an award for “Most Unhinged Week Leading Up to (and Immediately After) Contest,” RNH would have taken gold. No question. 😅

In the span of one week, we had:
3 members test positive for COVID
2 competing members unable to attend
AND a late-night plot twist Friday evening where 2 members (plus their drivers) took an unexpected field trip to the ER until 2:30 AM

At that point, we weren’t sure if we were a chorus or the pilot episode of a medical drama.

Huge shoutout to the real MVPs—those members (and our resident chorus mom, Nancy 💛) who turned the ER into an overnight hangout and STILL showed up ready to sing Saturday morning on basically no sleep. Iconic behavior, honestly.

And just when we thought the chaos had wrapped… oh no. The universe said, “encore.”

During the Saturday night banquet, one of our members lost a fight with a bathroom stall door and took a full-on left hook to the eye. The door won. We’re still emotionally processing.

AND YET… despite illness, absences, ER adventures, and rogue bathroom fixtures, we got on that stage and gave it everything we had.

We are beyond proud to have been named Most Improved Chorus, with a 29-point increase over last year! 🎉

Endless thanks to our incredible coaches, Karen Rourke and Andrew Lujan, and to Karen Sweeters at Harmony on the Sound—your guidance and influence continue to shape who we are.

Most of all, we’re proud of every single member of RNH. The resilience, humor, and heart in this group carried us through one of the most chaotic weeks we’ve ever experienced… and somehow made it unforgettable in the best way.

Now… after all that, we’re excited (and just a little afraid 😄) to see what next season brings. 💕

Who are those masked singers? 🦸‍♀️
Just Rhythm if NH in full superhero mode, ready to hit the Area 2 stage after working super hard on our contest package! We’ve been powering up our harmonies, polishing our timing, and trying to save the world one chord at a time. 💥🎶

We’re hoping to make our amazing coaches, Karen Rourke and Andrew Lujan, proud of us tomorrow — because every good superhero team needs great mentors in the command center!

And as for Kelly and Jen... let’s just say they got a little too close to the Kryptonite during rehearsals, so they’ll be sitting this one out of the flying scene tomorrow. Our newbies, Jazmine, Tanya and Rhonda weren’t ready to join us on this mission, but hopefully the next one. No capes, no takeoff, just strong moral support from the ground! ✨

🎵✨ Things are heating up at RNH Show Chorus! ✨🎵

We’ve been polishing, tweaking, and shining our contest package ‘til it sparkles — all while channeling the amazing coaching we soaked up from Karen Rourke and Andrew Lujan. Our chords are tighter, our moves are snappier, and our excitement is off the charts!

We can’t wait to see our Area 2 friends at contest April 23–25 — get ready, because the RNH crew is coming in hot! 🔥

Last week a visitor dropped by, and this week we doubled it — two more guests stopped by (both with those deliciously low notes 👀). Speaking of which...

🎶 What a night at RNH! 🎶

We were thrilled to welcome back our friend and vocal wizard Karen Rourke, who worked her magic helping place our brand-new bass, Jen—who also aced her audition last night! She’s officially part of our bass wedge... which now boasts EIGHT awesome basses! That’s a lot of low notes and good vibes!

Karen also helped us tap into the passion and emotional depth needed to truly transport our audience in our well-loved ballad — and then flip the switch to flirtatious and playful for our upbeat number, now slightly modified to be even more “us” (and we all know what that means 😉).

We did some voice placement adjustments, too—like a harmony jigsaw puzzle—to adjust for three singers who can’t join us for contest this year (we’ll miss you!), but the result is a richer, more exciting sound than ever.

We also missed Kelly and Jazmine, who weren’t feeling well — sending love (and harmonies) your way! 💕

🔥 RNH is on fire right now!

Last night’s rehearsal was packed with excitement as we built on the amazing techniques Karen Rourke shared with us last week. We welcomed a new visitor, Jen, and Rhonda (pictured, left with co-director, Jamie)— a brave newcomer who hopped on the risers her very first night — crushed her audition and officially joined our Bari section and brings RNH membership up to 25! Plus, we’ve got two more prospective members waiting in the wings to join her and keep that boost going strong.

Our newer members are bringing their A-game, and the energy is absolutely contagious. As one member said, “I am feeling extra super totally excited about contest this year!! There’s just something in the air this year that just makes it a bit more… extra!”

We’re growing in sound and size, and we’re so grateful to our coaches, Andrew Lujan and Karen Rourke, for believing in us and reigniting that much-needed spark.

🎶 Big Bass Energy Incoming! 🎶

RNH Chorus is thrilled to welcome our newest member — Amy! She’s diving right into our powerhouse bass section, and we couldn’t be happier to have her holding down the low notes with us.

How eager was she? Let’s just say Amy didn’t dip a toe in — she cannonballed into chorus life, doing her voice placement on her very first visit. That’s the kind of fearless enthusiasm we love! 🙌

We’ve also got two of our favorite returning guests circling the pool… you know who you are 😏 — c’mon, the water’s fine!
