A female dachshund was located on the Derry rail trail between Kendall Pond Rd. and Bowers Rd. and is currently being cared for by our Animal Control Officer.

Despite the rain, the 2026 Memorial Day Parade was a success thanks to the hard work and teamwork of so many dedicated personnel.

A sincere thank you to our Derry Police Officers, Derry Fire, Public Works, dispatchers, event organizers, CERT and all supporting staff who worked throughout the wet conditions to keep parade participants, spectators, and our community safe.

A special shout-out to the Derry VFW Post 1617, with recognition to Dan Stowers for his outstanding efforts in coordination this parade and ceremony. Thank you for your continued dedication to our community and our veterans!

We also want to thank everyone who still came out to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Heading to the Memorial Day Parade? Here is what you need to know about road closures and detours!

Starting around 10:00 AM road closures will begin. Crystal Ave (from Hood Commons to the Downtown Lights) will be closed for the parade. East Broadway from the Downtown Lights to Fenway St. will be closed to all traffic. Please try and avoid the downtown lights until the parade has ended.

Directly after the parade, a ceremony will be held at MacGregor Park. During the ceremony, East Broadway will remain closed from the Downtown Lights to Fenway St.

Please check the map below for the best detour routes. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day!
