UPDATE: Fire has been put out. No injuries.

‼️STRUCTURE FIRE on HWY 65 near the Chicot/Desha County Line‼️

Structure fire on Highway 65 at KVSA. Heavy smoke is crossing the highway, creating some visibility concerns. Dermott and Halley FD are responding to the fire.

Emergency personnel will be on scene to assist in directing traffic. Please proceed with caution.

“HIGH SCHOOL SAFE PROM DRILL” was such a SUCCESS‼️

Thank you to everyone involved in making the event happen -

Dermott Fire Department. Chief Coffey coordinated this event. It was Dermott High School first Safe Prom Drill and he did an amazing job.

Specials thanks to Dermott Police Department, Dermott Fire Department, State Police Trooper Menotti (Troop F), Pafford Ambulance, Pafford Helicopter, Rick’s Towing, Dermott High School staff and especially the volunteer students for participating in the drill.

Good afternoon, we will be going live with “High School Safe Prom Drill” this morning. Please join the live to witness this drill in real time from beginning to end with all first responders involved.

‼️THIS IS ONLY A DRILL‼️

We will have first responders responding in REAL TIME! It’s not necessary to call the police department. This is only a drill to emphasize students’ safety and awareness.
