Derma Town Hall would like to wish Each of you a Merry and Safe Christmas.. Please be weather aware as the forecast is predicting very cold temperatures. You might want to be sure you have all outside hydrants insulated and let your water drip during this cold snap. The water bill will be cheaper than a plumber.

Derma water & court fines can now be paid on line. Go to msezpay.com and follow instructions to pay your water bill or court fine on line. All payments must be paid in full. This system does not allow for partial payments. Thank you.

BOIL WATER NOTICE

Local officials have issued a precautionary “boil water” notice for people who get their drinking water from the Derma Waterworks in Calhoun County.

This precautionary action in necessary because the system lost pressure. When a water disruption system loses pressure. Contaminates can siphon back into the system. Public health officials consider any system that has lost pressure contaminated until tests of the water prove otherwise. As soon as pressure is restored to you, water systems officials will begin collecting samples for testing.
When pressure is restored, officials recommend that you vigorously boil for one minute any water to be consumed. You will be notified when tests show water is safe.

The Town of Derma is trying to apply for a Grant to improve the Sewer infrastructure. We are asking people who may be experiencing problems after heavy rains to HAND WRITE a letter to the Board of Aldermen. This letter needs to state the problems that are being experienced and the physical address of the property. Letters must be turned into the Town Hall on or before April 1st.
Target areas are Underwood Dr., Hamilton St. and Parkview Drive but we need to hear from you no matter what street in Derma you live on if you are experiencing problems due to heavy rains.

Reminder water bills are due the 10th we mailed them out January 26. They are apparently lost in the mail system in Memphis. We do apologize.

Derma has a petition for the following streets to have speed bumps installed.
W Enochs Avenue between 102 to 344; Brumley Street, Terry Street, and North Wells street. If someone from the Town has not been by your house and found you at home and you would like to sign the petition Please stop by the Town Hall
