The Beauregard Council on Aging provides the following services at no cost to seniors who are at least 60 years old throughout all of Beauregard Parish:
Meals-on-Wheels:
This is a home-delivered meal service to seniors age 60+ who are frail, homebound by reason of illness or incapacitation disability, or otherwise isolated. We provide 250 meals a year to the senior with meal deliveries on Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday of each week. Congregate Meals:
This service provides a hot lunch to seniors and also allows a chance for seniors to meet and talk with other seniors. This service provides 250 lunches each year for any senior who would like to join us. Non-Emergency Transportation:
This transportation service provides rides for seniors to doctor's appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other basic needs. We provide this service Monday-Friday weekly from 8:00-3:00. Care-Giver Respite:
This service provides 96 respite hours, or periods of rest, each year for a caregiver who lives with a senior who is 60+ and is providing 24hr care to that senior. Material Aid:
This service provides assistance devices and other goods that improve the quality of life for seniors. (Walkers, wheelchairs, fans, blankets, heaters, potty chairs, etc.) Visitation:
This service provides home visits through the BPSO Senior deputies as well as telephoning on a routine basis to check on the well-being of the senior. Legal Assistance:
This service provides legal advice, counseling and representation by an attorney or other person acting under the supervision of an attorney through our partnership with Acadiana Legal.
