🚔 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟑𝟔𝟓 - 𝐆𝐮𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 🚔

June is recognized as National Gun Violence Awareness and Safety Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of gun violence, promoting responsible firearm ownership, and honoring victims and survivors affected by gun-related incidents.

At the DeRidder Police Department, we encourage all firearm owners to practice safe and responsible gun storage. Simple steps such as securing fi****ms in a locked safe, using trigger locks, and keeping fi****ms out of the reach of children can help prevent tragic accidents and unauthorized access.

🌪️ Hurricane Season Begins Today 🌪️

Today marks the first day of hurricane season. DeRidder knows what it is like to experience the aftermath of a major hurricane, so we at the DeRidder Police Department encourage everyone to take time now to prepare before a storm threatens our area.

Make sure you have an emergency plan, stock up on essential supplies, review your insurance coverage, and stay informed through trusted weather sources.

Preparing early can help keep you and your family safe when severe weather strikes.
Don't wait until a storm is in the forecast, but be prepared, stay informed, and stay safe.
