This is First Light Power calling to upgrade the Lower Housatonic Flood Plan to Flood Alert. River flows below Stevenson Station are expected to be between 10,000 and 14,000 cubic feet per second overnight. Please take your appropriate actions to ensure the affected public is notified.

This is First Light Power calling to initiate the River Statement of the Lower Housatonic Flood Plan. River flows below Stevenson Station are expected to be between 7,000 and 10,000 cubic feet per second over night. Please take appropriate action to ensure the affected public is notified.

PESTICIDE TREATMENT NOTICE

This notice is to inform the public that SOLitude Lake Management will be on site at Lake Housatonic on July 23, 2026, starting at 8am, to conduct a submersed w**d treatment with the herbicides Komeen Descend and Aquathol K.

Following the treatment, use of water from the lake will be restricted as follows:

Swimming, Fishing, and Boating - No Restrictions
Livestock Drinking - No Restrictions
Direct Drinking - No Restrictions
Irrigation - No Restrictions

A public notice will be placed in the New Haven Register.

Reminder to boaters about new aquatic invasive species stamp purchasing requirement.

As of October 2024, boaters operating a registered vessel on Connecticut’s inland waters need to purchase an AIS stamp. This includes Lake Housatonic.

To comply with the AIS Stamp law, boaters have two options:

Individual AIS Stamp ($7.00). The Individual AIS Stamp is assigned to the individual purchasing the stamp, and it allows that individual to operate in compliance. The proof of purchase is displayed on that individual’s Sportsmen Conservation License as a privilege like a hunting or fishing license.

Vessel AIS Decal ($25.00). The Vessel AIS Decal is assigned to a particular vessel, and it allows anyone operating that vessel to operate in compliance. The proof of purchase is a decal that must be affixed to the vessel. The Vessel AIS Decal also provides an Individual AIS Stamp for the purchaser which will be displayed on that individual’s Sportsmen Conservation License as a privilege like a hunting or fishing license.

Effective January 1, 2020-An Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Stamp fee will be collected from any person who registers a vessel or renews a vessel registration in Connecticut. Boaters with out of state registrations who boat on Connecticut inland waters will also be required to pay an AIS fee
