It is with our profound sadness to announce the passing of one of our own. Zak McKeon passed away this morning. Zak was a new addition to the QF family and was just voted in as a probationary member in May. He was extremely excited and very active in this short time with us. He was willing to learn and was always willing to jump into any task you asked of him. He was moving to be an incredible asset to the Quaker Farms Fire Co and the Oxford Fire Dept as a whole. We will miss him dearly. Forever in our hearts and prayers Zak.

The Department regrets to announce the passing of FF Thomas Kochera EmergencyCo.2 Division 3. FR Kochera was hospitalized for a medical issue recently and passed this morning. At just 35 years old, he leaves behind a wife and 2 young children. Please keep this family in your prayers. Rest in Peace FF Kochera.

Our department is proudly made up of volunteers who dedicate their time to serving the City of Derby.

Our fire companies are currently heading to the start of the Derby-Shelton parade. The parade starts at 9 am. See you on the route. If you can’t make it, please have a safe holiday and remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country.

Would like to take a second to thank mayor DiMartino, the board of aldermen/alderwomen, the tax board and the capitol plan committee for approving the funds to buy this beautiful chiefs vehicle. Secondly I would like to thank Fleet Auto Supply for building this car and taking great pride in doing so!

Good Monday morning! Today is delivery day for one more of our turn key Tahoes ! We are so very proud to have earned the trust of the distinguished members of the Derby Fire Department, Derby, CT as they take delivery of this awesome command car. More to come on this turnkey build , it is a real beauty.

Our volunteers are currently operating on Route 8 Northbound in Derby due to a motor vehicle accident. Route 8 Northbound is currently closed at Exit 12B. Please avoid the area and use caution while traveling nearby. We will provide updates when the roadway reopens.
