The City of Derby has retained the services of Aegion-Insituform to line some section of sewer line in the S***m lane area. The relining started today, 8-5-2021.
In the picture below, the liner is being inserted into the sewer line in a section of S***m lane. Once the liner is inserted into the line, steam will be applied to the liner to harden the line so it take the shape of the exsting sewer line. The harding process takes 5 to 8 hours. Once this process is completed, the contractor will insert a robotic camera and and saw, similiar to a Dremel tool, to cut out the opening where building are connected to the main sewer line.
Druing the time of the curing process, we ask those customers who are in the area where the lining is taking place to limit their water usage.
