So proud of Team Vermont! Several NETO employees joined other VT participants at the Energy OutWest conference in Phoenix, AZ and won the Weatherization Competition!

And the winner is….

This week, all available NETO employees joined the other 6 VT Weatherization organizations as well as the Weatherization staff from the State for our annual Weatherization Day. This year was extra special as we celebrated 50 years of US Weatherization programs. Last year, this group was able to serve 1,201 households and save the state 112,614 gallons of oil, with 29% average energy savings per household (that’s about $900 per year – huge!). We are so proud to be a part of this important work!

Weatherization in the news!
The Vermont Weatherization Network is now going to be supported by a dedicated training center in Barre. This means it will be even easier to make sure all NETO employees have the most current and comprehensive training to do the best possible work in our clients homes. Classes will be available for others who are interested in weatherization as well.

A new training center may make it easier to find someone to weatherize your home. But our Calvin Cutler reports finding a qualified workforce is only half the battle.

Vermont's Weatherization Assistance Program and NETO are in the national news! This is a wonderful article about the unique approach Vermont has taken to educating our clients through the use of Efficiency Coaches.

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides more than just energy savings. It also provides energy security, cost savings, and—maybe most importantly—an opportunity for a personal connection between the home’s residents and the WAP agency staff members.
