We are here to provide a comprehensive and integrated emergency management system that coordinates community resources to protect lives, property and the environment through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery from all natural and man-made hazards that may impact our Township. The Township of Denville Office of Emergency Management proactively plans for hazards, works to reduce threats

and prepares Denville citizens to respond to and recover from a disaster. We are committed to ensuring that our community is prepared. Services
• Mitigate and plan for large-scale all-hazards emergencies and disasters
• Coordinate Emergency Management activities for the Township of Denville
• Maintain and update the Townships comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan, Hazard Mitigation Plan, Hazards Vulnerability Analysis, and the various Dam’s emergency plans.
• Activate and staff the Township of Denville’s Emergency Operations Center
• Monitor severe weather watches, warning and special statements issued by the National Weather Service and provide this information to other local government departments as needed.
• Serve as the chairperson to the Township of Denville’s Local Emergency Planning Committee
• Serve as liaison to local, county, state, military and federal agencies and departments
• Provide preparedness education and Citizen Emergency Response Training to citizens and government employees
• Coordinate multi-jurisdictional exercises
• Respond to multi-family structure emergencies
• Manage resources needed to assist responders and the affected population
• Assist partner response agencies and the affected population
• Provide assistance and preparedness to the Township Of Denville through the administration of federal and state grant funding
• Coordinate training, response and maintenance for request and usage of high water vehicle and generators
• Coordinate training, response and maintenance of all generators; to include traffic light emergency generator power

Morris and Somerset County Law Enforcement Advises Public How to Report Drone Activity

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Morris County Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald, Somerset County Chief of Detectives Francisco Roman, Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon, Morris Plains Police Chief / Morris County Police Chiefs Association President Michael Koroski, Somerset County Chiefs of Police Association President/Hillsborough Township Police Chief Michael McMahon and the Morris and Somerset County Offices of Emergency Management issue a joint public statement on recent drone activity observed in Morris County:

County and local law enforcement agencies are aware of the recurring reports of drone activity around Morris and Somerset counties, and acknowledge the public’s concern about these repeated sightings.

The subject County Prosecutor’s, Sheriff’s and Emergency Management Offices, our respective municipal police departments, working in close cooperation with the FBI-Newark, New Jersey State Police and New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness partners, seek to reassure the public that we will continue to monitor and investigate the drone activity.

There continues to be no known threat to public safety.

The FBI - Newark and the NJ State Police are asking for the public to report any information related to the recent sightings of possible drones. Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or submit it online at tips.fbi.gov. Citizens can also upload videos through the latter website.

.RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR CENTRAL AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY...

AFFECTED AREA...Our area

TIMING...From noon today to 7 PM EDT this evening.

WINDS...West 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 27 percent.

TEMPERATURES...In the mid to upper 70s.

IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning are prohibited, including fire pits.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels. Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to contain.

We are at a Stage 3 Restriction

All fires in wooded areas will be prohibited unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas, or electricity.
No charcoal fires are allowed.

Monday, Oct. 21: As of 6 a.m., the New Jersey Forest Fire Service has implemented statewide Stage 3 Fire Restrictions statewide in response to prolonged dry conditions and increased wildfire activity.

STAGE 3 FIRE RESTRICTIONS
🚫🔥 All fires will be prohibited unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas, or electricity.
🚫🔥 No charcoal fires are allowed.
