WHY I AM RUNNING
House District 7 (HD7) has been under represented for many years by our elected officials on the state and local levels. Running for State House of Representatives in HD7 was not originally on my bucket list, but the pressing need for someone to advocate for the issues important to the HD7 community has moved me to run for elected office. I have spent my whole life advocating on
the behalf of others. I received my first service award in 1984 while attending Carson Elementary School for posting the lunch menu of the day each and every morning. I did this with pride not caring about how small the task may have seemed, but just because it needed to be done. This also holds true to this campaign. It is about “true service” to those who live, work, or are just passing through HD7, recognizing that everyone is a true stakeholder in their community. True service is representing the stakeholders and community at large with their wants, needs, and wishes in mind. True service is taking into account each person’s varying circumstances and providing better opportunities to live longer and healthier lives. True service is doing what is right, economical, and fair for HD7 as well as to the citizens around the State of Colorado. This concept of “true service” has been lost over time, when your word was as good as your bond. It could be relied and counted on. Now, society is driven by big money corporations that only benefit the very few and the very many are paying a high price with their quality of life and their pocketbooks. I want to give the voice and power back to the residents in HD7 and the people of Colorado. I am running to re-instill the basic values of equality, integrity, and reliability to the position of State Representative. Every person deserves equality and to be represented to the fullest. They should be afforded the same opportunities and the chance to compete as others of different ethnic, class, or gendered backgrounds. Every resident of HD7 and the people of Colorado should be represented with the utmost integrity. I want to restore the moral, ethics, values, sincerity, principals, and good character that have been lost in Colorado politics. Too often our elected officials sacrifice the truth as a means to an end that does not serve their constituents. This campaign will not only give voice to the good, but also the bad and the ugly that needs to be shared on issues to move forward. I will be an authentic representation of what is fair and right, which has been lost over years past. I am a candidate that can be relied upon through thick and thin. I do what I say and I say what I do. I have been consistent in advocating for HD7 for what is right and just in our many community challenges. I will continue to advocate for HD7 as your State Representative.
