As the new school year begins, the Early Learning and Family Education (ELFE) team at Invest in Kids is excited to share an updated Incredible Years® Dinosaur School Curriculum with teachers at implementing partner organizations across Colorado.
This was a year-long initiative completed in partnership with Empower Community Care, provider of IY reviewed, streamlined, and adapted the Preschool and Kindergarten curriculum to reflect current, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate practices, all while staying true to the program's core model.
Highlights of the update include:
🦕 Reorganized structure with separate Preschool & Kindergarten binders
🦕 Simplified, flexible lessons teachers can tailor to their classroom
🦕 Updated large and small group lessons based on current best practices
🦕 Expanded prevention strategies to support self-regulation and social-emotional growth
🦕 Updated bilingual Spanish visuals for diverse learners and families
🦕 An enhanced school-home connection guide to strengthen family engagement
Invest in Kids will provide training, coaching, and implementation support throughout the rollout this year. We can't wait to see the positive impact in classrooms across Colorado!
