The final day of F.I.R.E.’s Hands on Training Week was outstanding as we combined Vent, Enter, Search (VES) under live fire conditions. Yesterday’s class was led by Marc Jonez along with a host of amazing instructors from the DFD. Participants got to learn in train under not only a harsh interior environment but also battled the hot September temperatures.

As an organization we truly have an amazing membership who combine unparalleled passion and dedication for the job both as instructors and participants.

The level of instruction this week was hands down some of the best you’ll find. We were able to not only train our members, but also host a number of outside agencies.

Everyone came together and showed that although we may represent different agencies small and large. Collectively we are driven to improve at the craft of firefighting in order to ultimately protect the citizens in communities we serve.

Engine Company Operations was on the agenda for Day 4 of F.I.R.E. Hands on Training. Training was led by Jesse Cardenas, Nate Jamison, and Taye Mitchell who focused on extended stretches, stairwell stretches, and hose finishes.

Day 3 of F.I.R.E. Hands on Training was focused on stabilization. Participants were able to train on different stabilization scenarios. The class was led by John Templeton along with members from Tower 1 and Rescue 2.

Auto extrication was the focus on Day 2 of F.I.R.E. Hands on Training. Today’s training was led by President Gino Abeita and Nate Garcia.

We had a great start to F.I.R.E.’s Hands on Training Week with today’s fire ground bailout class. Firefighters from several front range departments came to learn and train together. Technician Jonathan Timms led the class with a cadre of great instructors.
