The Conflict Center

The Conflict Center Simply put — we teach people to solve problems and build relationships.

The Conflict Center is a Denver-based nonprofit that works to prevent violence by teaching communication and conflict management skills to youth and adults, and encourages the use of restorative practices in schools to prevent suspensions and expulsions.

For Throw Back Thursday, we're reflecting on our journey: found this blast from the past activity box—yes that's a cassette tape in the back! We're almost four decades along in providing the skill building and encouraging the mindset of seeing conflict as an opportunity. Let’s continue to build bridges and resolve conflicts together!

Today on Colorado Gives Day, each and every donation provides a direct path to positive, lasting change for adults that participate in our skill-building programs. The ability to manage conflict and anger effectively is a foundational skill that transforms lives, relationships and communities.

A $1500 donation allows 8 adults to participate in our impactful Addressing Conflict and Anger Effectively course. This class provides participants with essential tools for emotional regulation and effective communication.

Tomorrow is Colorado Gives Day! A gift of $1000 allows up to 20 people to participate in a customized workshop that will foster connection and understanding in the workplace.

Conflict is inevitable in every workplace, but rather than avoiding it, we see it as an opportunity for connection. The Conflict Center offers a number of highly effective workshops that provide tools for de-escalation, effective dialogue and building strong team culture. Because each workplace is unique, our customized workshops meet your organization where they are at to accomplish your individual goals.

Our work wouldn't be possible without our amazing instructors. We pride ourselves on ensuring best practices for our programs across the board, and a gift of $500 could fund key professional trainings that help our instructors stay ahead of the curve. Now imagine your impact tripled with our two matches for Colorado Gives Day!

“We planted seeds of community engagement, of kindness, acceptance and inclusivity, which is needed now more than ever,” is how one volunteer described their Reading for Peace volunteer experience. That beautifully articulates the world our volunteers are building for the next generation, using books as a tool for change.

Your donation supports our Reading for Peace program and dedicated volunteers so we can provide new books each year and continue promoting inclusivity and empathy.

Did you know nearly 60% of the people we serve each year are under 18? We believe it's crucial that young people have tools to manage conflict in healthy ways that will set them up for success.

Through anger management courses, school programming and our Youth Advisory Board, we are both setting youth up for success and teaching the next generation of leaders how to build healthier relationships.

We couldn't do this crucial work without you -- join the wave of generosity this Colorado Gives Day and make a donation to The Conflict Center. coloradogives.org/donate/conflictcenter

Our Restorative Denver program truly exemplifies what it means to put peacemaking into action. We receive dozens of testimonies each year expressing the real-life impact this program has had on participants, how all parties were able to move forward with dignity and empathy.

This Colorado Gives Day, your $100 donation can ensure that a trained Restorative Denver facilitator can complete a full case. Your gift will go toward community change that will be felt for generations to come.
