September is Deaf Awareness Month! We’re proud to support and advocate across City and County of Denver agencies to ensure government services are accessible for our Deaf and Hard‑of‑Hearing community.

Friendly reminder: If you are a Deaf or Hard‑of‑Hearing individual, you have the right to request interpretation services from any government agency and our office is always happy to provide interpreting and additional support services.

Did you know that more than 755,000 people in Colorado are Deaf, hard of hearing, or experience some level of hearing loss? That’s why our office provides training to new recruits in the Denver Sheriff Department and Denver Police Department several times a year - ensuring they’re prepared to work respectfully and effectively with D/HH community members.

The 2026 Denver Days was a huge success! Big thanks to Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships, the Mayor’s Office, and all our amazing sponsors for making it happen. We were also thrilled to have DOVE: Deaf Overcoming Violence through Empowerment as one of the vendors! Wishing everyone a fantastic start to the school year!

Denver Days is almost here! Bring the whole family for a fun, community‑filled event featuring free backpacks with school supplies, tons of activities, vendors, and booths for everyone to enjoy. ASL interpreter will be provided!

Denver Days Back to School Fest is almost here! Join us on August 8 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Westwood Community Center for free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, music, and more.

Everyone is welcome! DOVE will have a booth there, and an ASL interpreter will be provided. Help us spread the word and kick off the school year right!

We were thrilled to join Mayor Mike Johnston at the annual State of the City! The Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships team proudly supports our Deaf and Hard of Hearing community by providing ASL interpreters for the event. One of the highlights of the event was seeing Sofia, a Deaf community member, take the stage with a beautiful representation of the national anthem in ASL.
