One thing we love doing is bringing Denver government agencies together with Colorado Deaf organizations and schools. This week, we teamed up with our agency colleagues at Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships Aging & Financial Wellbeing and city partners at Denver Parks and Recreation for a successful collaboration with the Denver Metro Association of the Deaf (DMAD).

Our teams visited the clubhouse and gave an amazing presentation on how members can access services. Everyone asked great questions, engaged in thoughtful discussions, and created meaningful connections.

Huge thanks for joining us and to DMAD for welcoming us so warmly!

Today, we celebrate Interpreter Appreciation Day and recognize the incredible professionals who help make communication accessible for all.

On behalf of Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships (HRCP) and our Access for All's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services team, we want to thank the interpreters who play such a vital role in connecting communities every day. Your work goes far beyond translation—you help ensure that Deaf, hard of hearing, and DeafBlind individuals can fully participate, engage, and be heard.

From public meetings and emergency response to community events and everyday interactions, your dedication, skill, and cultural competency make a lasting impact across Denver.

We are grateful for your partnership in advancing equity, accessibility, and inclusion for all.
Thank you for all that you do. 💙

April is National Deaf History Month! Our Program Coordinator, Cameron, led a presentation for city employees to share Deaf history and raise awareness about the experiences of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. The session highlighted topics such as Deaf education, Deaf President Now, and influential figures who shaped our community’s history.

The goal of this presentation is to continue spreading awareness and helping make the City and County of Denver a more inclusive place to live, work, and visit for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people!
