Giving back to the places that give us so much.

This past weekend, we were proud to sponsor Backcountry Hunters & Anglers’ 4th Annual Beer, Bands & Barbed Wire Strands festival in Gunnison!

Alongside an amazing crowd of volunteers, we put in some work to remove obsolete fencing, restore critical wetland habitats, and clear safe migration corridors for Colorado’s wildlife.

We also used our time at the festival to connect directly with the sportspeople there to further our CWC mission. Our goal was to ensure hunters and anglers understand how the $1.50 Wildlife Education Fund surcharge on every license works.

These dedicated funds power the Colorado Wildlife Council’s statewide educational campaigns. By bridging the knowledge gap, we help the general public understand that hunting and fishing are primary drivers of conservation, and show all Coloradans how science-based management keeps our wildlife populations thriving.
