The Denver Ambulance Service was established in 1975 and is comprised of crew members ranging from Drivers, EMT’s, Paramedics, and Nurse Exceptions. Averaging 250-300 calls a year, Denver Ambulance covers 160 square miles of territory and responds to Medical Emergencies, Car Accidents, Cardiac Arrests, Fire Standby Events, Lift Assists, Natural Disasters, and any other type of situation where emer

gency medical services are needed. Denver Ambulance Service is a volunteer organization, separate from the Fire Department, and operates 2 ambulances, Adam-8, a 2004 Ford E-450 and Adam-9, a 2010 Ford F-450, Located at the Denver Emergency Services Building, 24/7, 365 days a year. Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting feedback on the intersection of Hwy 63 and C-57/Cedar Wapsi Road.
A planning study is underway to investigate feasible options to improve the safety and operation of the intersection. Proposed options considered in this study will be shared. Your input will help ensure future improvements address the needs of the intersection.
Attend the public meeting:
• Wednesday, April 15, 2026, anytime between 5 PM and 6:30 pm at the Denver Public Library Community Room – 100 Washington Street, Denver, IA
Attendees will be provided with information about the project and offered the opportunity to share ideas with Iowa DOT staff. There will be no formal presentation. The meeting space is accessible but please contact Iowa DOT if more assistance is needed.

Yesterday, along with Denver Fire Department, the Denver Police Department, Bremer County Sheriff's Office and Kaiser-Corson Funeral Homes, Inc., we led a prom scene scenario for Denver High school students showing the worst of outcomes that can quickly become reality with distracted or impaired driving. We do this every few years before prom season. Thank you to our student volunteers and everyone else who helped to put this together!
