Newsed Community Development Corporation NEWSED makes Denver a great place to live. Our programs level the playing field and provide opportunities for the people we serve to improve their lives.

NEWSED is a Community Development Corporation (CDC), which has served the Denver Community since 1973. NEWSED’s primary focus has been to solve long-term economic problems in disadvantaged communities by securing and coordinating resources for neighborhood revitalization, developing needed shopping areas and services, fostering minority and neighborhood business ownership, job retention and creation, increasing home ownership and affordable rental opportunities, neighborhood organizing and hosting cultural events and activities that showcase the neighborhood’s predominately Latino population. Do you work with local makers, growers, artisans, or BIPOC-owned small businesses looking for more ways to reach customers? Vendor registration is open for First Fridays at the Lot on Friday, November 6.

First Fridays brings local artists, farmers, small-scale producers, and BIPOC-owned businesses together for an open-air evening market at The ZONE Marketplace in Denver’s Art District, with a steady crowd of neighbors and visitors who come out to shop local.

Working with Spanish-speaking clients who’ve already launched a small business and are ready to grow? NEWSED’s Business Basics Course is coming back in Spanish.

Básicos de Negocios: en español, para emprendedores que ya tienen su negocio y quieren crecer.

Over five weeks, participants work with peers and business coaches on the fundamentals: marketing and sales plans, break-even analysis, cash flow projections, legal/tax/licensing, and organizing their business. Graduates receive a certificate and gain access to NEWSED’s full range of small business services, including loans, extended courses, coaching, and The ZONE retail incubator.

First Friday at the Lot is happening tonight in Denver's Art District.
Each month, the Lot brings local artists and small BIPOC-owned businesses together with neighbors, families, and visitors for an evening of shopping, food, and connection.
