PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Denver has contracted with Utility Service Co. in the amount of $1,850 to clean and inspect the interior of the water tower. The Denver Water Tower will be taken out of service. While the Water Tower is out of service there will be one well pumping directly into the water distribution system. There will be two pressure relief valves connected to a fire hydrant; one of the pressure relief valves will be on the fire hydrant in front of City Hall and the other pressure relief valve will be on the fire hydrant on Schneider Street mid-block between Lincoln Street and Prestien Drive. There will be water running continuously out of these two fire hydrants. City employees will begin draining the water tower on July 6, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. After the cleaning and inspection is completed, the tank will be disinfected. Then the water tower will be re-filled. After the tank has been re-filled, two water samples will be taken 24 hours apart and the results must be absent of coliform bacteria and e-coli. After two good water test results, the water tower will be placed back in service. All water customers will experience lower than normal water pressure when the water tower is out of service. The Splash Pad will be closed during the time the water tower is out of service. The Denver Water Tower holds 250,000 gallons of water. If you have any questions, please call City Hall at 319-984-5642.
