Weather pending, beginning September 15, 2026, the City’s Contractor (Heartland Asphalt) will begin the State Street asphalt paving between Quarter Section Run Creek and Prestien Drive. State Street will be closed between Prestien Drive and Fayette Street as well as between Fayette Street and Main Street starting September 15th. East/West traffic will remain open at the Fayette/State Street intersection. Traffic between Main Street and the bridge will experience alternating traffic under the guidance of flaggers when paving is in that area. Weather pending, this closure is expected to last 2-3 days. A detour will be in place to get around utilizing Mill and Transit Street.

Please see the attached map showing the construction zone and available detour route. For safety purposes, please do not enter the construction area.

STATE STREET UPDATE - September 9, 2026 - As of today, asphalt milling is scheduled to start Friday with paving to follow on Tuesday & Wednesday, weather permitting.
There will be additional closures and flaggers to pay attention to on those days.

STREET CLOSURE - E. Fayette Street from Willow Run Street to Longview Street will be closed on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Detour Route will be Willow Run Street to Lincoln Street to Schneider Street.

There will be NO THRU TRUCK TRAFFIC.
