Three Colorado fracking companies, Crestone, Bonanza, and Extraction, have just agreed to merge into Civitas Resources, Inc, to be one of the largest oil and gas producers in Colorado. Canada’s pension plan, CPPIB, will be their largest shareholder and investor. The combined oil and gas business venture seeks to expand oil and gas output from 372,000 b/d of oil to 428,000 b/d by 2022 and 437,000 b/d by 2023. Last year, impacted Coloradans called on CPPIB to drop their investments in Colorado fracking, and once again we are calling on Canada to be good neighbors and stop fracking our communities!
