The members of the Denny’s River Volunteer Fire Department are heartbroken over the tragedy in Searsmont.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the firefighters, families, and employees affected during this incredibly difficult time.

We are praying for strength, healing, and a speedy recovery for those who were injured.

To Firefighter Andrew Cross — thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication to protecting your community. Your service and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the loss of Maine State Warden Pilot Joshua Tibbetts, who passed away in the line of duty.

To Joshua’s family, friends, and brothers and sisters at the Maine Warden Service: please know that the Denny’s River Volunteer Fire Department stands with you in this time of immense grief.

Joshua was a dedicated public servant, and his absence will be deeply felt across the state. We are profoundly grateful for his service and the ultimate sacrifice he made while protecting our Maine woods.
