🚌 We're Hiring a School Bus Aide! 🚌

Claymont City Schools is seeking a School Bus Aide for the 2026–2027 school year!

Join our Transportation Department and become part of a special team dedicated to safely transporting our students each day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to help start each student's day on a positive note.

What You'll Do:
✅ Assist students while boarding and unloading the bus
✅ Help students using wheelchair lifts and safety harnesses
✅ Support the bus driver so they can focus on safely operating the bus
✅ Help ensure a safe and positive transportation experience for all students

Qualifications:
✔ High School Diploma
✔ Pass the Para-Professional Exam
✔ Pass a drug screening
✔ Pass FBI and BCI background checks

Why You'll Love It:
🚌 Approximately 4.5–5 hours per day
📅 School calendar schedule with summers, holidays, Christmas break, and spring break off

Claymont Primary would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mike Hickman and Hickman Excavating for their incredible generosity, hard work, and support as we continue transforming our playground area for our students.

We are grateful for the dedication and expertise Mike and his team have brought to this project. Their efforts are helping create a space where our students will learn, play, and make lasting memories for years to come.

This is the baby video for our 2026 graduates that was put together by Mr. Baldwin and several students. We apologize for not being able to play it on the big video board during the ceremony. The baby pictures can be picked up at the high school, Monday through Friday, 7am to 2pm.

Congratulations to Amy Rossi on her retirement from her role as one of our High School English teachers. Amy has dedicated 35 years of service and hard work to our district, making a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues throughout her career.

As she begins this exciting new chapter, Amy is looking forward to spending more time traveling and camping. We would like to thank her for her years of dedication and wish her a fun, relaxing, and well-deserved retirement.

Students wrapped up Day 3 of their Washington, DC trip with a memorable and meaningful day of exploration and reflection. Their travels included visits to the Marine Corps Memorial, Air Force Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery, where they witnessed the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Students also toured Arlington House - the former home of Robert E. Lee, viewed President John F. Kennedy’s eternal flame, and paid tribute to Uhrichsville High School graduate John Alvin Derry by placing pins at his gravesite. Derry worked in Washington, DC during the Manhattan Project.

The group also enjoyed lunch at Pentagon City Mall before making their final stop at the Pentagon Memorial prior to heading home. What an incredible experience filled with history, honor, and lasting memories!
