A good book always hits the spot! 📖🍽️

Eric Carle likely created this artwork as a draft for a fundraising poster published by the American Library Association. What's your comfort-food picture book?

that you can view some of our collections from anywhere, at any time, through our Digital Collections?

Digital Collections, like the recently digitized South Carolina Council on Human Relations Collection, make collections accessible to those who may not be able to travel to the Library to view the materials in person. They are a great resource for all kinds of researchers from seasoned academics to casual history lovers.

The South Carolina Council on Human Relations (SCCHR) emerged from in*******al organizing in the state. It grew out of the South Carolina Committee on In*******al Cooperation, formed in 1919, and became the South Carolina arm of the Southern Regional Council. In 1957, it changed its name to the South Carolina Council on Human Relations. The organization worked to promote civil and human rights for African Americans in the state, as well as hoping to improve race relations.
