We had the chance to give a presentation about: Job Readiness, Attitude, and Skillsets to the JJCS group last week with our partners at America's Job Center New Mexico - Southwestern Area.

It was fun getting to know some of our youth - we shared our goals and learned about some of theirs! When we asked this group what their strengths were ... we had an overwhelming amount identify their greatest strengths as KINDNESS. What a great room to be in that night.

Thank you to Luna County / City of Deming for sharing your personal stories to success and the opportunities that exist in working and being involved in local government!

Early College HS students didn't just learn about City/County jobs -- they shared their insight and vision for our community in the short-long term! More things to do (including a deeper lake with bigger fish) and of course - a new school! We even had some volunteers to be our media guru's and make us TikTok famous!

OWN Your Future is about sharing some secrets --> 1) you can be anything you WORK for; and 2) the path to success looks different for everyone.

Connecting industry -> youth -> government = strong communities & economies!

1 23 minutes and 55 seconds until you can see the reveal of accepted students into the 2026 Deming PD Explorer Program!

Deming is the County Seat for Luna County with a population of 14,000. The Village of Columbus sits just 20 miles South of Deming with a population of 2,000 and is home to the only 24-hour commercial port of entry.  Approximately 10,000 people live in the unincorporated areas of Luna County.

Early College HS Students took a step toward OWNING THEIR FUTURE today by visiting one of Deming's valued employers, Compass Made.

Compass plays a big role world-wide and students got to hear from a Deming graduate who started as an entry level employee and has worked his way toward becoming a Project Manager!

Compass offers room for growth and we appreciate Mr. Delatorre and his team for welcoming the workforce!

Huge shout out to Dr. Bailey for investing in our youth!
