🚧 Road Update: SR 9 Near Hopewell Road — Bridge Damage & Traffic Changes

Community members traveling SR 9 near Hopewell Road and Highway 9 (between Nugent’s Corner and Everson) should be aware of a traffic change in the area.

During recent paving work along the SR 9/SR 547 corridor, crews encountered an unexpected setback that resulted in damage to the timber support system of a bridge over Klein Ditch. Repairs will be needed before full traffic flow can resume.

What this means for you:
🔸 Traffic will alternate through a single lane until repairs are complete
🔸 A temporary traffic signal is being installed
🔸 The road remains open, access is not restricted

WSDOT's Bridge Preservation Office has assessed the situation and estimates it will take 2 to 4 weeks to develop a repair plan. We will share updates as more information becomes available.

We know this route is important to our community and we appreciate your patience during this time.
