Volusia County Public Library and Lyonia Environmental Center invite families to Grateful Steps Story Walk. Walk the nature trail, visiting crafting stations and uncover an original story about friendship and Florida wildlife. Juice and cookies will be served at the end of the walk.

The trail consists of soft sand and may not be accessible with a stroller. All ages welcome. Closed toed shoes are highly recommended. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Deltona Regional Library is located at 2150 Eustace Avenue. Contact Deltona Regional Library children’s desk for more information by calling (386) 789-7207, extension 21018.

🌊 LEC “Living Shorelines” Homeschool Program for grades 3 and up
📅 Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 10 am – 12 pm
📍Marine Discovery Center 520 Barracuda Blvd, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168
💳 Cost: $8 per child, 1 parent free, additional adults $8

Explore different methods used in creating living shorelines and seine net to discover the creatures found in the estuaries. We'll hike to the top of Mt. Morgan for an expansive view of the area and learn about the Shuck and Share program and how oyster shells are being used for a worthwhile purpose instead of ending up in the landfill. Participants should wear closed toed shoes and clothes that can get wet. Bring a set of dry clothes and shoes to change into following the program.
