Tragedy Unfolds: Dying Mother Torn Apart from 4-Year-Old as State Agencies Fail to Uphold Justice, DCF / CPI FLORIDA Continues to Unjustly Bully Families & Remove Children From Home
Mothers, fathers, and parents, I need to bring to your attention a deeply concerning and distressing situation involving a refugee immigrant dying mother in South Florida. This mother is facing a grave injustice as her 4-year-old child was removed from her care by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) without any justifiable cause. The circumstances surrounding this case are both heartbreaking and troubling.
Here are the key details of the situation:
Unjustified Child Removal: DCF removed the 4-year-old child from the mother's family care without a legitimate protective basis, placing the child in the care of the system, and unfamiliar people. This action has left the mother devastated and separated from her child during a time of great need. Mother is on dialysis, her work visa expired when she lost one of her eyes (the other damaged), one of her kidneys, and the other is damaged. Mother was in a coma, and is daily fighting for her life. The mother relocated herself, and her child closer to friends and family for support. Without legal status, she cannot receive a lot of assistance from the state. She cannot petition for much, and she was targeted as a weak point. DCF removed her child under allegations that the mother was incapable of mentally providing consent for a family to care for her child. In court, she is denied a hearing/trial, and denied the right to have her P.O.A and child's P.O.A (caretaker of the child and family) added as an interested party. The mother is denied access to see her child. Her medical needs are overlooked, and the unproven allegations are overlooked and refused to be addressed in court.
Denial of Legal Rights: The court system has denied the mother justice by refusing to grant her the opportunity for a hearing or trial. Additionally, her requests for interested parties to be added to the case and for her representative, as well as the child's Power of Attorney, to represent her, have been unjustly denied. The mother was denied the right to appoint her family as the child's legal guardian. Mother and family were not informed of the shelter placement court date, and were not contacted for days about the whereabouts of her child.
Childnet reaches out to find out information from the family and mother. However, in court make claims they have no contact. DCF/CPI acted in their best interest to bully the family, alienate the child, and refuse to follow proper protocols. However, the issue is not being brought up in a court hearing.
Lack of Communication: The mother has been consistently denied access to critical information, including court dates, further exacerbating her distress and sense of helplessness. The testing, evaluation, and all procedures happening to her child. Possibly violating her and her child's religious, cultural, and other rights.
Child Safety Concerns: Shockingly, while in the care of DCF, the child experienced a traumatic incident when attacked by a dog. This raises significant concerns about the child's safety and well-being in the current situation.
Alienation from Family: The child has been alienated from her family, further compounding the emotional trauma she is enduring.
Urgent Medical Condition: It is essential to emphasize that the mother is suffering from a severe illness and is in a critical condition. She is facing the very real possibility of losing her life, making it all the more imperative that she is allowed to be with her child during this difficult time.
We urge all Media outlets, social platforms, News, individuals, and organizations to shed light on this distressing case and advocate for justice for children who are experiencing exploitation within the Child Protective Investigations (CPI) system, DCF, and the court system in Florida. It is crucial that these violations of human rights and children's rights are exposed and addressed promptly.
All platforms that support care, and justice have the power to bring public attention to this grave injustice, potentially leading to a much-needed resolution for this refugee immigrant mother and her child. We kindly request your support in highlighting this issue and pursuing justice for those affected.
